Samsung Galaxy A37 is making progress. We saw its GSMA IMEI listing back in September. They had shown the model number SM-A376B on it. That same code showed up today on Samsung’s test firmware servers. They are obviously done with the hardware and are now moving towards software development.
“A376USQU0AYK3” is the firmware code we found on the test servers. The prefix gives up the name A37. And by the way, it’s a USA model, possibly one of those carrier-locked devices we usually see in major global markets. A leaker shared an image as proof.
The listing doesn’t spill any secrets. But it does confirm that the phone is in development and right on track for release in the next few months. No launch announcement has been made. A3x phones usually drop in March every year, so that could be it.
They almost always debut A3x and A5x devices together. The new Samsung 5G mobile, Galaxy A37 has been a well-kept secret so far. But the A57 has spilled more than just firmware code and model numbers. We have seen a Geekbench listing for that phone.
They did an OpenCL test on Geekbench. That’s a GPU stress benchmark. We found that A57’s SoC code is “S5E8865.” Well, analysts are calling it Exynos 1680, but the real name is anyone’s guess at this point. 8GB of RAM and the Samsung Xclipse 550 GPU are definitely coming to this phone.
Galaxy A57 hit 6524 points with that GPU and RAM. If the Samsung Galaxy A57 is getting a chipset upgrade, surely the A37 will too. They outfitted the A36 with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip last year. The next logical upgrade should be Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, but let’s not color our opinions just yet. We’ll let you know if there are any more developments on the subject.
