Samsung Galaxy A34 Begins One UI 8 Internal Testing Before the Stable Release

Right now, Samsung is testing the One UI 8 x Android 16 update on several of its devices. One of them is the 2-year-old Galaxy A34, which was recently found running a test build of the new firmware. Even though Samsung isn’t going to release a beta program for it, we expect to see the stable One UI 8 on the Galaxy A34 soon.

One UI 8’s internal test build for the Galaxy A34 could mean it’s in the final stages of deployment. The update could be ready for an official release, and the internet, as usual, has already unearthed details about it. A leaker shared some exclusive information about it over on X.

Apparently, this test build is assigned the firmware code A346BXXUAEYG3. The prefix “A346B” you see in the code is actually a model number for the Galaxy A34 international variant. The leaker says that the phone’s One UI 8 update has already been spotted on the Samsung server today, and he provides some images as proof.

Given the nature of this leak, we still have some reservations about the legitimacy of the source. The tipster @Koram_Akhilesh has a track record with leaks, but not a solid one. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for similar reports regarding Samsung’s latest budget mobile. For now, though, we suggest taking this news with a grain of salt.

One UI 8 (stable) has officially been deployed with the Z Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, and Fold 7, so we already know a few details about it. We hope some of the features we saw on the foldable devices could trickle down to their non-folding cousins.

This is a substantially improved software with Android 16 as the backbone. There are minor feature additions in the One UI 8. It’s fair to say that the design and user experience are its main priorities. We have developments in the lock screen, animations, and core applications that come from Google.

Samsung has already provided a list of eligible Galaxy devices that will support Android 16 x One UI 8, and Galaxy A34 is indeed on that list. It’s only a matter of time before they make it official. Stay tuned for more news related to One UI 8, as we will be hearing a lot about it in the upcoming weeks.
