Stable One UI 8.5 is still reaching more devices that are eligible for it. Galaxy A26 was also on the list. And it has finally grabbed the update in Guatemala, and we’ll probably see the One UI 8.5 in more regions soon enough. These are all the details we were able to find.
There’s a leaker on X who is known for keeping track of Samsung’s update servers. A new post from said leaker pointed right at the new One UI 8.5 update for the Samsung Galaxy A26. Thanks for the tip @Mohammed_K_2010. We’ll embed the post here so you can see for yourself.
Anyway, the new firmware version for this particular model of the Samsung new A model is A266MUBU9CZEA. This number could vary on different A26 versions in Europe or the global market at large. For now, though, this update is staying in Guatemala until it has reached all the local devices. And then it will move on to the next region.
The leaker didn’t get into the specifics of the update, and there was no screenshot of the changelog. We do know that Galaxy A36 and A56 got the same update with the April 2026 security patch. So, the A26 must also have the same security upgrade.
The same goes for the features and other system changes. They’ve added complete customization to the quick panel this time. The search bar is moved to the bottom in many stock apps. Three new screen clock styles and new animations are seen in the lock screen customization.
It will take a few days, but the Galaxy A26 will grab the One UI 8.5 update in Pakistan. You can “Check for Update” in the Software Updates menu in the meantime. When the update hits your device, there will be a changelog with a Download and Install button in the same menu. Tapping that button will trigger the update process. Keep watching the news for more.
