A leaker has tipped some optimistic battery figures for the Redmi Note 16 series in an early report. The current Redmi Note 15 lineup was actually released in August 2025. We expect to see the next devices around that same timeline. Anyway, the details came from a credible source. So they are worth pointing out.
The Weibo post is from Digital Chat Station’s account. So we know it has some validity. Many publications are citing the leak. And some suggest the leaker is actually talking about the Redmi Note 16 lineup. The leaker didn’t exactly name any device, though. The closest guess would be a Redmi Note 16 Pro or Pro Plus.
The leaker says a phone is under testing with a 10,000mAh battery. Yes, that number does sound ridiculous, at least for the global market. But the idea doesn’t seem as outlandish for China. The region already has some 10,000mAh phones. And Xiaomi obviously wants to keep up in that space.
The leak doesn’t end there. There’s supposed to be a 100W charging backup for the elusive Redmi Note 16 device. A battery that huge will need all the charging speed it can get. But the only way they can fit a 10,000 mAh battery into a slab phone is with Si/C anode. Those batteries usually recharge faster.
By the way, DCS also reported a 200MP camera on the device under testing. This is something we’ve heard before in former leaks. They did use a 200MP camera on the global Redmi Note 15 Pro+. If they are testing it again, it’s probably for the Redmi Note 16 Pro+.
Of course, this is just an early leak. You have to take these details with a grain of salt until more sources have verified the news, especially the part about a 10,000mAh battery.
Still, the same company also built a 9,000mAh Redmi Turbo 5 Max. We can’t really deny the possibility of a Redmi phone with a 10,000 mAh battery, at least for now. Keep watching the news for updates.
