Realme has officially announced that it will be launching the Realme X50 5G in China on January 7th next year, and it has already sent out the invites. But ahead of its official release, Realme has teased us with a handful of promo posters. The posters showcase the rear panel and camera design of one of the X50 variants. Let’s take a closer look.
Pictured below, you’re looking at the Polar White Realme X50 5G, with its vertical quad-camera setup. The optics package sits on the top left corner, flanked by an LED flash right underneath. Reportedly, the X50 will be equipped with a Sony-manufactured 64 MP IMX686 shooter, but we haven’t received word on the accompanying modules.
While the rear shell is bare save for the camera setup, the Realme X50 5G doesn’t feature an in-display fingerprint reader – as its predecessors did. With this iteration, you get a capacitive fingerprint sensor mounted on the side, alongside what’s rumored to be an IPS display.
The IPS LCD screen is another downgrade from the OLED screen on previous X-series models. Realme seems to be making these cutbacks on the specs to keep the price tag of its first 5G-enabled smartphone affordable.
These official posters don’t showcase it, but Realme has confirmed that the Realme X50 5G will sport a pill-style dual-punch-hole. The screen is expected to measure 6.6 inches and embed a 32-megapixel selfie shooter coupled with an 8-megapixel sensor.
In a similar vein, Realme has also revealed that the phone will run on a Snapdragon 675G chipset with a dual-mode 5G modem baked into it. With the dual-mode 5G support, the phone would have to be a powerhouse, but we don’t know the battery details yet except that it'll also support a 30W fast charge.
That said, official channels have shown off the phone’s battery life on Weibo. A screenshot posted by Realme’s product manager Wei Derek shows the phone’s battery at 62 percent capacity after a day’s use. In other words, you can expect to get at least two days of usage out of your Realme X50 5G.
