Poco has finally announced its latest budget duo, Xiaomi Poco M5 and Poco M5s. Both phones will support 4G carriers meaning eligibility to retail in every country. But despite the pair's simultaneous unveil, only the pricier variant, M5s, will be deployed globally.

Both M5 and M5s offer distinct design features. The M5 features a design iconic to Poco's M lineup, while the M5s adopts the rebranded Redmi Note 10S-styled fuselage — a phone from a partner brand. Let's see what this pair brings to the table.

Poco M5

The design of the M5 is reminiscent of its forerunner M4 Pro. The rear plate has a black accented camera platform spread horizontally across with three lenses inside. The primary sensor is 50MP wide, while the other two are 2MP auxiliary units (macro and depth).

Flipping the M5 around, you'll see a notched 6.58-inch screen with an impressive 1080p resolution and 90Hz screen refresh. As the brand advertised, it has a G99 Helio processor inside hooked with a 5000mAh battery. The phone will top up using an 18W charging speed. The base Poco M5 (4+64GB) costs around ~Rs 28,700 and (6+128GB) for ~Rs 34,200.

Poco M5s

The M5s competes for the top spot in the entry-level price segment. It uses an AMOLED, 6.43-inch, 1080p resolution, Widewine L1-supported screen. Under the hood, you will see an Helio G95 (12nm) processor powered by a 5000mAh battery. The phone is 33-Watt fast charging capable.

The camera-trio has 64MP primary sensor, the power button doubles up as a fingerprint sensor, and the chassis has an IP53 protection rating. It's the perfect competitor to Redmi Note 11.

The all-new Poco M5s comes in three storage+RAM combos. It starts from 4+64GB, priced at ~Rs 45,300 ($207). The 4+128GB and 6+128GB option cost ~Rs 49,700 ($227) and ~Rs 53,800 ($246) respectively.
