Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is Launching in Pakistan Next Week; Powerful Chip, Head-turning Design

Oppo's latest premium mid-range Reno 5 line debuted in Pakistan with the Oppo Reno5. And it’ll soon be joined by a Pro edition. Announcements have been made, the product page is up on Oppo Pakistan's website, and the new handset will be available in the market from 15th February 2021. Here’s what the upcoming Reno5 Pro has to offer.

Design and performance are the two primary highlights of this device. Last year’s Reno4 Pro fell somewhat short on account of its chipset. Not only does the Oppo Reno5 Pro make up for the lapse, but the flagship-grade Dimensity 1000+ at the phone’s heart also promises best-in-tier performance.

The new MediaTek chip is built on a 7nm fabrication process, and a 5G modem is baked into it. We’re still years away from a 5G infrastructure in Pakistan, but if ‘future-proofing’ is on your priority list, the Reno5 Pro makes a decent candidate.

Thanks to the thinner, more energy-efficient silicon wafer and the 4350 mAh (up from 4000 mAh), the Oppo Reno5 Pro can easily last you a day, even more, depending on your usage. When you run out, the speedy 65W SuperVOOC charging can refill the device to 100% in only 30 minutes.

Design is rarely an afterthought for Oppo phones, and the Reno5 Pro is no different. At 173g and 7.6mm, the phone has an incredibly light footprint. An aluminum frame is sandwiched between two glass panels (both toughened with Gorilla Glass 5.) Oppo has painted the shell in their signature “Reno Glow” finish. It shifts in color dramatically when it catches the light at different angles. You can pick from Starry Black and Astral Blue shades. Definitely a head-turning addition to the Oppo price list.

Flip the Oppo Reno5 Pro over to find a 6.5” AMOLED screen with a hole-punch cutout in the corner. The panel curves along the edges, featuring an optical fingerprint scanner and a full HD resolution.

You can find 120Hz displays in Reno5 Pro’s price point, but they’re often IPS LCD — lacking the color calibration and HDR10+ support this OLED screen has.

The price won’t be confirmed until the February 15th, the day Oppo introduces the Reno5 Pro. However, WhatMobile expects it to start anywhere around Rs. 79,999 to 84,999 PKR.
