Oppo had revealed the A6x 4G in Pakistan, long before its global debut today. So our market knows its price tag, even though this is a secret in other regions. We’ll get to that in a bit. They’ve just started the worldwide expansion for Oppo A6x 4G and A6x 5G, and here’s what they have.
Oppo A6s 4G and 5G were also globally introduced in the same fashion, as a duality. They had little to no difference but the chipset. It’s the same deal with Oppo A6x 4G and A6x 5G, except that one of them has a far better camera than the other.
These two are built around the same measly HD+ 6.75” IPS LCD. Oppo and Vivo have completely normalized these sorts of low-quality displays in the entry-level. At least the Oppo A6x duo has a solid 120Hz refresh and 1,125 nits brightness, so you are getting some value back.
Again, these two Oppo A6x options are the same, with an IP64 rating only. That has minor water ingress safety. They say it will run smoothly for 48 months. But one is closer than the other to fulfilling that promise. We are talking about the 5G Oppo A6x, of course. There’s a far better chip on the A6x 5G. A Dimensity 6300 has been used here. That’s a 2.4GHz platform, and it has a better Mali-G57 GPU version. Then comes the A6x 4G, which is stuck with the generations-old Snapdragon 685. Their performance won’t be stretched too thin with the older Android 15 x Color OS 15 system.
Anyway, the selfie camera is 5MP on both these A6x versions. The true difference is in their rear cameras. The A6x 4G got official with only a 13MP + QVGA back-facing camera. But the A6x 5G is here with a 50MP main camera and 2MP monochrome.
They wrote that fast charging is unsupported for either version, and they didn’t give the exact number either. They did say a 6500mAh battery lies inside both of them. The one with a 5G chip has a base 4/128GB option, and the 4G starts at 4/64GB. We know that the Oppo A6x 4G (6/128GB) costs Rs 46,999 in Pakistan. We suspect the global price might be in the ballpark.
