Last month, an unmarked Oppo device with the model number PKW120 appeared on China’s TENAA database, revealing key specs and images but no official name. That mystery has now been resolved. The same model has just surfaced on the Google Play Supported Devices list, this time under the name “Oppo A6i 5G.”
Since the phone first came up on the TENAA database, you can expect Oppo A6i (PKW120) to eventually arrive in China. Industry watchers were already suspecting that this new phone might be a successor of the Oppo A5x 5G with the model number “PKW110,” making the newcomer a logical successor.
Google Play Support database showed no specific details, but TENAA gave away the phone’s design and spilled almost all the information you need to know about this device. Oppo A6i is a 5G phone with Dimensity 6300 SoC — a typical entry-level chip we mostly find on affordable phones.
This Oppo new A model will also score a big 6.67” LCD screen that might have a resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels. If it’s the same display as Oppo A5x, this will provide a 120Hz refresh rate and around 1000 nits peak brightness. There’s also a side fingerprint ID on this device.
Storage and RAM choices are limited here. The base variant shall possess 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Spending a little more might get you 8 GB physical RAM and 256 GB space for your files and apps. A decent battery backup is also expected from Oppo A6i 5G.
TENAA revealed that the phone’s battery is rated at 5860mAh, which means the typical capacity should be advertised as 6000mAh. At the front, they assigned an 8 MP selfie sensor to this device. There are also two other sensors on the back with a 50MP (primary) and a 2MP (assistive) unit.
This newcomer weighs around 194 grams and measures only 7.99mm thick. If it’s anything like its predecessor, the Oppo A6i 5G might be secured with an IP65 rating military-grade drop protection.
