Oppo A5i arrived in Pakistan just a few weeks ago, but it’s already been made obsolete by the launch of its successor in China. The company has just unveiled the Oppo A6i in the home market, built around 5G support and a massive battery. This device has drop protection like no other. Here’s all you need to know about the A6i.
On top of the phone, we have a 6.56” screen with IPS LCD HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a mid-tier phone by all means. The panel reaches a decent 1000nits peak brightness. This Oppo's latest 5G model has a far bigger battery than last time. They’ve upgraded the cell from 5100mAh to 6000mAh. Since it’s one of the cheapest models from Oppo, it seems the company has completely moved on from 5000mAh batteries. The maximum input A6i supports is 45W, though the company’s proprietary superVOOC charger.
This configuration will give you 50% of recharge in just 37 minutes. That huge battery powers a Dimensity 6300 chip, the cheapest 5G-ready chip you can get on a smartphone. It clocks at 2.4GHz with Mali G57 GPU (the performance matches a Helio G100).
Oppo A6i is backed by an SGS 5-star military-grade shockproof build, which keeps it safe from drop damage. It’s a Diamond Shield design with strengthened glass and a high-strength aluminum alloy for the middle frame. Besides that, the A6i has been tested against water and dust at the IP65 level.
This newcomer has a 256GB storage limit with 8GB RAM on the top variant. You’ll find Android 15 onboard this device from the get-go, and there are a host of AI tools inside to enrich the user experience. Oppo A6i has a starting price of 899 yuan (~PKR 35,000) for the 6/128GB trim. Buyers also have an 8/256GB upgrade option, which is priced at 1099 yuan (~PKR 43,000).
