The basic Infinix Hot 70 has launched, while the Hot 70 Pro and Pro+ could take a bit longer to reach the market. They’ve deployed the vanilla sibling in the Indonesian market today, after Bangladesh. Devices like these always launch in Pakistan sooner or later. Our sources tell us that Infinix is prepping for a local debut of the Hot 70. So you should get familiar with its specs.
It’s one of those color-changing phones. Remember the Mondrian version of the Tecno Camon 19 Pro that turned from white to Mondrian colors. Well, the Hot 70 has two phases of change. By the way, this only applies to the Thermo Orange shade, not all the colors.
Infinix latest Hot mobile turns lighter orange when it heats up. The cold will turn it into a darker, more saturated version. It’s a playful gimmick, but a gimmick nonetheless. Infinix may be trying to distract us from the fact that it doesn’t bring a lot of upgrades this time around.
The screen seems to be an IPS LCD again at a 6.78” size. This is an HD+ 720p display, of course. But more importantly, it’s a 120Hz panel, so the animations must be smooth, as far as the SoC allows it. The screen, by the way, is only 700 nits, so sunny days could hurt visibility.
The chipset at the core of this handset is a Helio G100, which is a fine platform in the entry-class. Plus, it’s one of the few good chips left with 4G-only support. This 2.2GHz processor should have no problem running XOS 16. That’s right, the Hot 70 does have the latest Android 16 onboard, out of the box.
The camera (main) is a 50MP shooter with no OIS. And there’s an auxiliary sensor in one of the lenses. So it’s a pretty basic setup. The selfie snapper seems to be an 8MP outsole. Both cameras do 1440p recording. That’s one of the perks of having a Helio G100 and UFS 2.2 storage.
They did upgrade the battery, which we appreciate. The new capacity is 6000mAh. Yes, it’s pretty average today, but at least they are willing to let go of the old 5000mAh standard. Plus, the charging is now 45W on standard Hot 70 (vs. 18W on the Hot 50).
This newcomer has 5 years of updates on the way, three of which are Android OS upgrades. They didn’t unveil the pricing of this device at launch, so we end the coverage here. But we’ll keep you apprised of all the developments about the Hot 70. Keep watching the news.
