Their original Tecno Spark Go 3 was launched seven months ago, and we had forgotten the series completely until today, when we heard about the official debut of Tecno Spark Go 3 Pro. The device came out of the blue with a new design and an IP69 rating.
This handset is built around a 6.78” screen, but nowhere in the press release did they mention if that’s an AMOLED or just an IPS panel. It’s a Spark series phone, so an IPS screen would be a safer bet. Anyway, the display is 120Hz. No resolution was given in the press release either.
We are missing the brightness figures, which would’ve been a helpful guess on the display’s nature. There are only two lenses on the back. There’s a single functioning camera here, by the way, which is 13MP next to a flash.
They’ve also cut out a punch hole in the screen where the Spark Go 3 Pro installed an 8MP selfie snapper. This phone is on the lower end and very cheap, so they cut corners in most places. Spark Go 3 Pro is probably based on a Unisoc T7250 (12 nm) platform that’s only a 1.8GHz octacore CPU. And the performance is crippled even more by the RAM, because there’s only 4GB of it on both variants. The storage is either 64GB or 128GB with $10 extra.
That’s not what they are marketing on Spark Go 3 Pro. The phone’s apparently IP69 dust/waterproof, and we’ve rarely seen that figure on former Spark models. There are also two speakers on the phone, stereo sound, and the spatial tuning is officially from DTS.
The battery is average, though. They’ve put a 5200mAh cell on the device. And that’s one day backup at best. The charging speed is only 15W, so it’s also sluggish at refills. Spark Go 3 Pro (4/64GB) sits at $168 (~PKR 46,000), and the upgraded (4/128GB) trim bumps the price to $178 (~PKR 49,000).
