Honor Play 10 Launched with Lightweight Android 15 Go and 5000mAh Battery

After unveiling the Play 10C with comically large cameras, the brand has debuted a normal-looking Honor Play 10 today. This is a budget phone with dated specs and modern software. It brings the lightweight Android Go Edition out of the box with a 5000mAh battery to power it up.

This new device is based on 4G connectivity, unlike the Honor Play 10C, which used a Dimensity 6300 chip to connect to 5G networks. Sadly, as it downgrades to LTE, the Honor Play 10 also takes a massive performance hit with a Helio G81 SoC and 3GB base RAM.

Honor has balanced this performance offset by giving the Play 10 an Android 15 Go OS. This is a lightweight substitute for the resource-hungry vanilla Android 15. It will get the best use out of the phone’s 3/64GB and 4/128GB memory options.

Honor new budget model’s screen looks modern with a small notch and thin borders, but the specs seem outdated. This is not an IPS panel, nor does it have a high refresh rate. You get a TFT LCD on the front at 6.74” with 720p HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

The camera on the back is serviceable with a 13MP main unit, recording 1080p videos at 30FPS. Flip it over to the front and you’ll see a 5MP unit behind the screen’s U-shaped cutout. The Play 10 gives users a basic IP52 resistance on a thick 8.55mm frame.

Its battery size is also a standard one. The newcomer brings 5000mAh capacity, which is passable but not really impressive in 2025. You can recharge it through a USB Type-C port over a 10W input. This handset can be bought in Ocean Cyan, Starry Purple, and Midnight Black skins.

Honor hasn’t revealed the phone’s price, but this type of hardware is usually found on sub-$100 entries. Expect the cost to be in the ballpark. The Play 10 brings a fingerprint on the side, 5GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.1 for that price, which is modest but perfectly acceptable within this segment.
