Samsung Galaxy S26 series got the stable One UI 9 earlier than any other device. But it took them a while to push the update outside South Korea and the US. They’ve just begun updating the Galaxy S26 in the global markets. October 2026 patch went live an hour after the stable One UI 9 reached Europe.
The stable One UI 9 has hit all three Galaxy S26 models in Europe. That’s the Galaxy S26/S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The way they’ve handled the update deployment has raised a few eyebrows, though. They could’ve shipped the October patch with One UI 9, but that’s apparently not the case.
One UI 9 was announced in Europe today, and just moments later, users got an alert that the October 2026 security patch was available for download. This is a small 544.15MB OTA package, and it’s supposed to update the firmware to S94xBXXS4BZIG.
Sadly, the exact contents of the update were never announced by the company. The odd timing raised another question. Why hasn’t this update reached the South Korean market first, where One UI 9 has already been available for weeks?
Are they secretly trying to fix something in the global One UI 9 update for the Samsung S new model series? We didn’t find anything meaningful in the update’s changelog, but something will appear soon enough to answer this burning question.
