All Galaxy S26 devices are getting new designs this year. Of course, by new, we mean the camera style is changing. A leaker recently shared a sketch of what seems to be a basic Galaxy S26 device, showing a camera bump and a charging coil on the back.
The image seems authentic enough. And it’s been posted by the famous Ice Universe, so it definitely gains extra credibility points. Now, we have seen this design before. Android headlines and OnLeaks shared high-quality Galaxy S26 renders that looked like this sketch.
This is one more clue that Samsung is changing the camera design on the series and plans to introduce Qi2 magnetic charging on the basic model. The phone also seems thinner than before. The cameras are no longer scattered independently on the back plate.
The lenses are now bunched up inside a raised camera module that gives the Samsung new S model a cleaner look. And it’s not just for aesthetics, by the way. They wanted to make the Galaxy S26 thinner. This way, the camera quality or the lens depth isn’t affected, while the thickness is reduced.
That circular ring on the back is a sign that Magnetic Qi2 charging is a possibility on Galaxy S26. They will finally level up the wireless magnetic alignment for the chargers. This should work the same way as Pixel Snap or Apple’s MagSafe.
This sketch doesn’t give specifics. But the leaker mentions in the description of his X post that Galaxy S26 is getting trimmed down to just 6.9mm (vs. 7.2mm on Galaxy S25). Samsung wanted to call this basic model a “Galaxy S26 Plus,” but they pulled the plug on that idea.
But, if it has the same specs as the alleged S26 Pro, we may be getting a 6.3” display here. The phone will be 2.4mm taller and 0.9mm wider. The phone is actually getting thicker on the camera bump by about 1.55mm. Galaxy S26 will upgrade the battery capacity to 4,300 mAh if the leaks pan out.
