Samsung will soon expand the One UI 8 beta program to Galaxy A36 users. This firmware is built around an Android 16 OS, and only a handful of Galaxy devices get access to it. The new beta update was seen on Samsung servers today, which means an official rollout must be right around the corner.
We’ve known for a while that Samsung has penned down a few Galaxy A devices for the One UI 8 beta program. The company made an official announcement a few weeks ago. Galaxy A36 was among the few chosen models to gain access to the beta firmware in September.
A leaker on X has just found some preliminary details about this beta update on Samsung servers. According to the screenshots he posted online, the firmware version is called “A366EXXU4ZYH3.” This is a test software designed for Galaxy A36.
Of course, this is a beta program, so only a limited number of users will get access. It’s quite exclusive. Users must be signed into the Samsung Members app, and even then, they will face regional restrictions. We’ll know the names of the countries in the next few weeks.
SamMobile suspects the One UI 8 beta release in the UK, South Korea, and the USA. As always, the main purpose of this update is to flag all the bugs before Samsung releases the stable One UI 8 on Samsung's latest A model. Expect this beta cycle to continue for a few months.
The official OTA will be deployed only a few weeks from now, possibly in September. We’ll report back to you as soon as it happens, so make sure you stick around. If the update is anything like the stable One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold series, it will be heavy on the multitasking improvements.
Beta reports on the One UI 8 have so far mentioned features like a quick split-screen app switcher and reminder update. Samsung also made changes to the Quick Share UI. We’ll know the specifics about Galaxy A36’s beta update when it goes official in September. Keep watching the news if you want to stay in the loop.
