Apple's iPhone 16 Pro, despite being two generations away, could not subdue the relentless rumor mill from sharing its intricate details. As with every consecutive iPhone, the 16 Pro is bound to bring forth a plethora of changes and advancements. And among them, its aspect ratio will stand out the most.

Ross Young, the famous Apple analyst, sheds light on what we can expect from this highly anticipated device and its subsequent influence on the iPhone 17 models the following year.

One notable change on the horizon is a shift in aspect ratio, according to Young. The iPhone 14 lineup's 19.5:9 aspect ratio is expected to remain unchanged in this year's iPhone 15 models. However, the iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to introduce a taller aspect ratio.

As the aspect ratio becomes taller rather than wider, the display sizes of the new iPhone model are set to expand incrementally. The current 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch defaults are expected to grow to 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, respectively.

That marks an increase of 2.5% on both screen configurations. The new aspect ratio promises to elevate the media content to a cinematic ratio. With an elongated canvas for visual storytelling, users can delve deeper into vertical short content like social media feeds and web browsing.

As these rumors continue to swirl, tech enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the iPhone 16 Pro, waiting to see how Apple's latest innovation will shape the future of mobile technology. We’ll know more about the upcoming devices as the gossip develops further.
