Xiaomi Redmi 15C Unveiled Globally with 6.9” Display & Improved 6000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi 15C 4G, and it’s headed straight to the global market. In the next few weeks, it will appear in multiple regions. Pakistan might be one of them, if the past is any indication. So, here’s everything you should know about it.

The phone’s design imitates the Poco C85, which debuted two days ago. There’s a huge 6.9” IPS panel on the front that refreshes at 120Hz. The resolution is mediocre HD+ 720p, but the advertised 810 nits brightness is pretty solid, considering this is an IPS LCD.

Redmi 15C is a sub-entry-level phone focused on budget, so the company did cut some corners to save cost. The newcomer uses a cheap Helio G81 Ultra SoC with a 2.0GHz CPU and Mali G52 GPU. Its storage seems to be eMMC-based, with the base option only using 4GB RAM for multitasking.

The latest Xiaomi Redmi mobile also has 6GB and 8GB RAM variants on the roster, paired with 128GB and 256GB storage, though the price does get steeper at each level. This handset boots to an Android 15 system with a Hyper OS 2.0 skin. You will see occasional frame drops and lags across the UI, which is to be expected at this price range.

It carries a 3.5mm Audio port and an SD card slot on the SIM tray. The extra storage will be handy for the videos and photos you’ll take from the phone’s 50MP Main sensor and 8MP selfie shooter up front. The camera design may have changed on the newer model, but the specs remain the same.

The C variant from last year didn’t have an official IP rating. We now see the Redmi 15C with an IP64-certified design, fully safe from dust ingress with minor protection against water. The front panel has Gorilla Glass 3 that should keep it safe from scratches and scuff marks.

The battery capacity is bumped from 5160mAh to 6000mAh on the Redmi 15C. It also has a faster charging speed, at 33W. The fingerprint ID is on the side, flanked by volume rocker. There’s a single speaker at the bottom. You can buy this handset in various colors: Moonlight Blue, Mint Green, Midnight Gray, or Twilight Orange. The price will vary region-to-region, but it will remain in the same ballpark of $119 (~PKR 33,000).
