Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Max Signals Imminent Launch with First Official Certification

The Poco X8 Pro is the successor to the X7 Pro, but what about the Pro Max? There hasn’t been any release from this category yet, so this is a new and unpredictable territory for Poco. We know that the Poco X8 Pro Max exists because it just got certified in an overseas market.

Poco just got the X8 Pro Max certified at BIS, where the platform registered it under the model number 2602BPC18I. Don’t get it confused with 2511FPC34I; that’s the basic Pro version. They were both seen on the BIS database, one after the other.

This new listing has put the device on the roadmap for launch within the next few weeks or so. They’ll probably release the X8 Pro Max along with the X8 Pro and the basic X8. There’s still some uncertainty on that front, but we’ll soon have an update for you.

Anyway, most of the phone’s specs are still a secret. The rumor mill has been claiming that the new Xiaomi Poco mobile is actually a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 Max. So the latter’s alleged specifications must align with the Pro Max’s feature list.

There’s possibly a Dimensity 9500s chip on the Turbo 5 Max or the X8 Pro Max. That should make either device the world’s first with the D9500s SoC. Geekbench has exposed that this device will have 16GB RAM with the new Android 16/Hyper OS 3 build.

The specs so far sound believable. There was another report that the Turbo 5 Max should have a 9000mAh battery. Now, if Poco used the same cell on X8 Pro Max, which we believe it will, this could be the company’s first device to hit 9000mAh capacity on a phone.

Beefy battery needs a fast charger. So they might outfit it with a 100W charging backup. We hear the screen on the Pro Max and Turbo 5 Max is 1.5K resolution LTPS OLED. This is a 6.83” panel, and there’s some energy efficiency built in. We are trying to determine if there’s a global version for the Poco X8 Pro Max. We’ll let you know if there are any more updates.
