The Chinese Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max will land in the global market under different labels. They will be called Xiaomi Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra. These two phones were given an official launch date today. There will be an online event on September 1st at 8 PM GMT+8 where they’ll announce the F9 series.

An Aura green finish for the Poco F9 Pro and a Cherry Red color for the F9 Ultra are considered the hero colors. The official renders actually gave a preview of each one. We also found the design, which is exactly as described by previous leaks.

These may be Redmi phones at core, but battery regulations force these new Poco handsets to use smaller cells, so the Xiaomi new Poco mobile actually has a tinier 6,330 mAh battery and the F9 Ultra gets 8,050 mAh. Now’s a good time to mention that the F9 Pro is smaller than the Ultra.

Official teasers have few details. But the specs on these phones do match the Redmi K100 series. So, it’s safe to bet on a 6.59” screen for the Poco F9 Pro. It’s actually a 1.5K resolution panel with possibly an 185Hz refresh rate. We’d categorize this as a flagship screen.

The brightness will touch 4500 nits (peak), probably usable with HDR only. There’s going to be a 200MP main camera (OIS) on the F9 Pro, which, by the way, is also shared by the F9 Ultra. Each phone seems to have a 50MP telephoto as well.

We speculate just an 8MP ultrawide on the Poco F9 Pro. But the Poco F9 Ultra is being primed for a 50MP ultrawide. By the way, the Poco F9 Ultra is also way bigger, and its screen is also a 6.9” 1.5K panel. It will be 185Hz. There’s the same 4500nits peak brightness.

These two phones even get the same 32MP selfie camera. It’s still just a theory, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC might land on both models. Poco F9 Pro and Ultra both get IP69 ratings and 100W charging as well. Keep watching the news for more updates.
