Xiaomi Mi 10S Featured on Google Play Console; International Variant Has the Snapdragon 888

Following its local debut in China, the Xiaomi Mi 10S is readying for its global launch. The timeline is unclear as of now, but Xiaomi has plans for this latest (and possibly the final edition of the Mi 10 series) outside of China, as per Google Play Console.

The phone leaker @Stufflistings first spotted the product listing for the upcoming sibling of the Xiaomi Mi 10t on the Google Play Console database. In addition to containing the Mi 10S system specifications, the document also reveals an unexpected upgrade.

Xiaomi typically sells their phones in China without Google Mobile Services, but they had to secure approval for GMS for the international release of the Mi 10S.

The global variants of Chinese phones often have trimmed-down hardware, but the Xiaomi Mi 10S is an exception. As opposed to the Snapdragon 870 that powers the Chinese Mi 10S, the international Mi 10S has the top-end Snapdragon 888 at its heart. The handset would be a powerful addition to the Xiaomi price list.

The Google Play Console doesn't state the chipset name outright, but the 'Qualcomm SM8350' model name and the GPU/CPU specifics belong to the Snapdragon 888. When it launches, the global Mi 10S will become the second Xiaomi phone to feature this system-on-chip.

It remains to be seen what other improvements Xiaomi has in store for us, but they’re likely borrowed from the Chinese Mi 10S. You can expect the following specs: 90Hz 6.67” AMOLED screen, 108MP primary wide camera, Harman Kardon certified stereo speakers, NFC support, 4780 mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and 12GB/256GB of maximum memory and storage.
