Xiaomi 17’s key details have been confirmed now. The batch arrives in China first, as usual. Three new smartphones will be unveiled today, September 25, at 7 PM Beijing time (4 PM Pakistan Time). We’ll hear more about Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max at the event. For now, we have a few last-minute teasers from the company and a leak that exposes each device’s battery in real life.
The new official teaser talks about the display on Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. From what we can tell, this device has an AMOLED M10 screen luminescence technology, which can offer the industry’s highest luminous efficiency, around 82.1 cd/A, if we go by the numbers.
The Pro Max’s screen is the first with a new independently arranged RGB pixel stack. That means it can avoid “pixel pooling” and take advantage of the same 2K resolution as before, but with 26% less power usage. Another teaser from Xiaomi talked about its battery.
The post with battery details is titled Xiaomi 17 Pro series. We assume it talks about both the Pro and Pro Max models. The photo says “Jinshajiang battery,” which is an L-shaped Li-ion stack with 16% high-silicon content. Both these phones are recharged by a 100W adapter.
The official posts had limited details, but Digital Chat Station somehow found all the information about the latest Xiaomi flagship mobiles, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Pro Max, and vanilla 17 cell size and weight, with proof. The leaker has sourced an image from the factory floor showing each phone’s battery and its weight on a scale.
Those batteries are labelled BM6H, BM72, and BM6N. The Pro and Pro Max’s cells are L-shaped. It’s just a square power pack for the vanilla 17 (presumably). DCS says the Pro Max has the largest capacity among them at 7500mAh (7300mAh rated). The weight is ~81.5 grams.
The standard 17 Pro gets a 6300mAh capacity (6150mAh original rating) with ~70 grams of weight on the scale. The vanilla model has a slightly bigger cell at 6800mAh (6660mAh rated), and it weighs roughly ~73.5 grams. All that’s left is an official confirmation of these numbers. We’ll know more about these devices once the launch event wraps. Keep watching the news.
