Xiaomi plans to roll out at least four models from its flagship lineup this year. Of course, none of their names or specs have been officially confirmed yet, but we did find certifications dispelling the haze. Xiaomi recently opened blind pre-orders in China for an unknown flagship product, which the experts believe could be the Xiaomi 16.
The four models in order of rank are Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Max (tentative name), and Xiaomi 16 Ultra. Three of them are usual entries. But the “Max” is a new one, believed to have a bigger screen, almost the same size as the Ultra.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is due by the end of this month, and you can expect three of these Xiaomi flagships to launch right after it. Xiaomi 16 Ultra won’t be arriving on the scene until 2026. So, let’s stick to the three devices that are coming this month.
There’s a new design coming with the Xiaomi flagship new mobile (allegedly). And if that is truly the case, Xiaomi 16 Pro’s design has to be revamped as well. The so-called Xiaomi 16 Pro Max has a completely different look than the rest, as it brings a horizontal camera bar at the top with a display inside, like the older Xiaomi 11 Ultra.
The vanilla and Pro are suspected to carry 6.3” OLEDs. The Xiaomi 16 Pro Max and Ultra, on the other hand, could use bigger 6.8” screens. All have 2K resolutions and high refresh rates. Except for the vanilla, the series may include 3D printed metal frames to reduce the weight.
Xiaomi will be the first brand to use the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip on its flagship phones. Leaked benchmarks show the chip consistently scores above 4,000 and 11,000 points on single and multicore tests, which makes the 8 Elite Gen 5 the fastest mobile chip on Android platform.
All three models have been certified with 100W charging, and battery sizes in the neighborhood of 7000mAh. There’s also a triple lens setup on each device. The Pro and Pro Max both have a new SmartSense 590 50MP Main sensor, next to a 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto. And yes, all three devices will have 50MP selfie units.
Digital Chat Station claims the Xiaomi 16 series might debut between September 24 and 26. Let’s see if this leak pans out. Keep watching the news for further updates.
