The Xiaomi 16 series won’t be announced until the next few months, but the leak train is already picking up speed. Just days after the first Xiaomi 16 renders surfaced, a new report from Digital Chat Station has come out with a fresh batch of hardware and software details. Here’s what we found in the new leak.
If what we hear from DCS is true, Xiaomi 16 could debut with a trio of 50MP cameras on the back. The primary lens should be armed with a 50 MP 1/1.3-inch sensor, and the secondary + tertiary cameras should bring ultrawide and telephoto modules with 50MP resolution each. The zoom camera might also work as a Macro shooter.
The battery is also interesting, especially for a non-Pro Xiaomi model. DCS believes that its capacity might be around 6500mAh, which is quite the leap over its predecessor’s 5400mAh cell. That’s not all. The company also plans massive improvements to the phone’s screen.
Apparently, there’s a 6.3” flat OLED screen on the front of this device with very fine borders engulfing the visible area. There will be a small punch-hole cutout on the screen, like always. We also have some obvious changes in the design, like the two-tone backplate or the rearranged lenses inside the camera module.
Google has already introduced Android 16, and with Xiaomi’s usual timeline for its flagship release, users might be greeted with an A16 x Hyper OS 3.0 system by default on the new flagship Xiaomi mobile. There are many new surprises packed inside the Android 16, which will go perfectly with the phone’s top-of-the-line SoC.
DCS reports that the Xiaomi 16 is one of the few early devices to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, which Qualcomm is set to launch in September. Rumors say that the Oryon CPU cores are making a comeback this year, and the performance bump is expected to be around 25%.
There will be LPDDR6 RAM and a 30% GPU performance increase with an SD 8 Elite 2 chip. Details about this new SoC are still scarce, but the rumor mill is trying to unearth more information on this new chip as we speak. Stick around if you want to stay up-to-date with all the latest developments on the Xiaomi 16 series.
