Xiaomi 15T & 15T Pro Launch Date Locked; Event Slated by the End of This Month

Reports suggest Xiaomi plans to release its flagship 16 series by the end of this month. The company hasn’t marked the date yet, but we did get an official word about the Xiaomi 15T series’ launch on September 24th, just a few days ahead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon summit in Hawaii.

The teaser popped up on the company’s official X account. It signals the exact day Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro are planned for release: September 24th. The Xiaomi event is happening in Munich, Germany, by the way, right at the beginning of the popular Oktoberfest.

In a follow-up post, Xiaomi confirmed that the event coinciding with the festival is by design and not just a fluke. A picture in the tweet, taken from Xiaomi 15T Pro’s 115mm zoom camera, has a Leica sticker on it. That means the company is once again collaborating with the famed camera brand.

The “T” series is usually categorized as “Flagship Killer.” These aren’t pure flagship devices. Expect the 15T and 15T Pro’s performance to be lower than the original lineup, which features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. These new flagship Xiaomi mobiles are speculated to have MediaTek chips.

If the past is any indication, Xiaomi 15T could use the Dimensity 8400 SoC, and the 15T Pro might opt for a Dimensity 9400 or 9400+. The “T” lineup before had the same pattern. The current 14T uses a D8300 silicon, and the 14T Pro comes with a D9300+ SoC.

The phones in this lineup usually have flagship-tier cameras and displays, not to forget the Leica color treatment and filters. The teased photo is watermarked with the camera specs: a 115mm focal range with an f/3.0 aperture. That’s clearly an optical zoom from a telephoto camera.

Fingers-crossed, we’ll be hearing more about the Xiaomi 15T series from the company either through a continued teaser spree or via the official website. We’ll keep track of these devices and report back to you as soon as we find something new. Stay tuned for updates.
