Vivo Y6a Goes Official with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, IP69 Rating & 7200mAh Battery

Vivo releases cheap phones throughout the year, without a predictable schedule. Another handset was released in China today, a Vivo Y6a, built for durability and endurance. Its performance is pretty basic. But it’s still a 5G device and has a lot going for it in other categories. This is everything you need to know.

The screen is at the low tier. Vivo Y6a seems to use a 720p HD+ on its 6.75” display, and that resolution definitely doesn’t fit the price. This is an IPS LCD, there’s a 120Hz refresh rate, and the brightness is 1200nits, so it’s not all bad. No objections for the punch hole either, but it does have a thick chin.

A Snapdragon 4 Gen 3 chip does the heavy lifting here. The chip is a basic 2.2GHz engine, though it does have 5G support. The RAM on this Vivo Y6a is 8GB LPDDR4X, and the storage is 256GB. Any phone that runs this chip has UFS 3.1 storage speeds, so that’s something.

It’s all running on the Origin OS 6 build, which is actually Android 16 at the core. 8GB RAM is usually more than enough for average users, but the newcomer does have 8GB virtual RAM expansion, just in case. Now onto the battery specs. Stay up to date with Vivo mobile prices, specifications, and new releases.

They’ve apparently put a 7200mAh cell on the Vivo Y6a. That kind of battery tends to last two days per charge with a light hand. And the backup for this power source is a 44W charging kit. There are supposedly 1800 cycles till 80% health drop, and the health is rated for 6 years.

It’s just a single functioning camera on the back at 50MP. Of course, the Y6a does have a selfie camera as well, which is 8MP only. The phone leaves nothing on the table, durability-wise. They’ve got it rated for a full IP68/IP69 waterproof design.

There is, of course, NFC support on this handset, and we have a fingerprint reader on the side, since it doesn’t have the AMOLED. Its IR blaster will act as your universal remote. The price is a little steep, though. Vivo Y6a (8/256GB) is actually priced at 1,999 Yuan (~PKR 81,000).
