Following the global launch of X90 flagships, Vivo is prepping to flood the market with mid-rangers. The rumored V27 catalog will be out before long, but sooner ahead, the brand unveiled “Vivo Y56 5G” to give people a taste of what they have in the bank. Here’s what the newcomer offers.
Y56 belongs to the sub-mid-range segment with a 6.58-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. A V-shaped cutout melts into the screen, making the 16MP selfie shooter accessible. The chin and forehead are slightly intrusive, but the design veils all its kinks.
The phone is a straight slab with flat rails, a matte texture, a dual-silo camera unit, and a lustrous accent that spans the top horizontal portion of the phone. The metallic rims to envelop lenses are a nice touch. Its rails carry all the usual peripherals; volume rocker, type-C port, Speakers, SIM tray, microphone, you name it. Most notable seems to be the sensor-meshed power button for fingerprint ID.
In the province of photography, the Vivo new 5G model has a stellar 50MP high-res camera doubled with a depth mapper for all those portrait addicts. The cherry on top, as Vivo puts it, is the Super Night feature. However, users will still find a stripe of flash LED lights with the camera, just in case.
A MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip under the hood will handle all the labor. Using 8GB physical memory and 8GB virtual memory, it will tackle power use with no excuse. On the storage side, you have 128GB of space, which is plenty for most. Y56 offers the Android 13 experience out of the box, skinned as FunTouch OS 13.
Y56 5G is no shocker when it comes to battery and charging. It has standard 5000mAh and 18W. In the shades of Black Engine and Orange Shimmer, the phone will retail in India first before appearing in other regions; at an astonishing cost of 250$ or PKR 65,000. As of yet, we can’t confirm if it will launch in Pakistan.
