The company unveiled the standard Y50 5G in China a few months ago. The newly released Vivo Y50i 5G is the second member in the group. It’s a cheaper option that cuts some corners to lower its price, but the phone features largely the same spec sheet. Here’s everything you need to know about the Vivo Y50i.
This newcomer has a 6.74” IPS LCD that refreshes at a 90Hz rate. The resolution is low quality at 720 HD+, but the 1000 nits peak brightness is more than impressive. The panel even gives you a DC dimming feature if you have sensitive eyes. TÜV Rheinland has officially certified this phone as “Blue Light safe.”
It runs a Dimensity 6300 chip, which makes this phone a 5G device. Vivo pairs that SoC with 6GB RAM, so expect lite multitasking performance here. It gets you through the door with 128GB of storage, and a portion of that space is used for Vivo’s latest Origin OS 5 x Android 15 operating system.
The chipset lends this phone a midrange performance, but the latest Vivo 5G mobile is actually an entry-tier device with a weak camera and slow charging speeds. We only have a 13MP functioning main lens on this newcomer. The second camera on the back is only for show.
It also has a selfie camera on the front, housed in a notch, although its resolution is quite underwhelming at only 5 million pixels. The rear setup can record 1080p videos and has an Aura light and an LED flash. The front cam is completely barebones.
There’s a single speaker on the bottom and a 3.5mm audio jack right next to the Type-C port. The phone has a side fingerprint ID installed on the power key for quick access. We also have the WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4 as a part of its essential specs.
The battery has a 6000mAh rated capacity enclosed in an 8.2mm frame. That is the same size as the standard Vivo Y50, but the charging speeds are nowhere near as fast. The Y50i only supports a 15W input. This device has a starting price of 1,499 Yuan (~PKR 59,000).
