A couple of flagship Galaxy devices opened the One UI 9 beta program days ago. Apparently, the update is also unlocked for their midrange phones, and the Samsung Galaxy A56 is one of them. There are obviously a few hoops you need to jump through to grab this update as a Galaxy A56 user.
This update isn’t made for everyone, though. Only Samsung members get access. So you’ll need to sign up on their app. And even then, there’s a regional restriction. One UI 9 beta program on the Galaxy A56 scales only as far as the company’s home market, South Korea.
The update will eventually end up in the US and the UK. Galaxy A56 in those regions would unlock the One UI 9 beta soon enough, and after some versions of the beta are tested, we’d finally see the official stable version of One UI 9 on the Galaxy A56.
Anyway, we saw a screenshot of the beta update on the New Samsung A model, which was posted on the Samsung Community site. The picture seems accurate, and this officially starts the beta phase for One UI 9 for the Galaxy A56. They’ve added plenty of stuff to the new update.
We hear the update has a more customizable quick panel, and you can also do more in the Notes app. There’s an option to redact text in files. Location access has a blue indicator at the top when any app taps into the phone’s GPS. This is a privacy feature.
There are many other helpful tools tucked away in the Accessibility menu that also got an upgrade with One UI 9. They are doing beta testing to flush out the bugs in the system. The beta testers will drive the early One UI 9 build daily to give developers feedback, and we’ll probably see a stable version of the update later. Keep watching the news for more updates.
