Vivo Y21T Featured in Leaked Promo Posters; Better Display and New Chip

The Y21T is an upcoming refreshed edition of the original Vivo Y21 that came out in the fall. It still sits in the budget segment. But Vivo is relaunching the original phone with a new Qualcomm chip. Its release timeline was leaked yesterday. And another publication has followed up with the official marketing images for the Vivo Y21T.

Two promo posters featuring the Vivo Y21T surfaced on the web today, courtesy of @OnSiteGo. They showcase the color options and the detailed specs for the Y21T. The only piece missing now is the pricing.

First off, Vivo hasn’t revisited the color palette or the design. Vivo Y21T comes in Midnight Blue and Pearl White — the same as a previous Y21 variant. Three lenses and a squarish housing stick out the chamfered casing of the phone. It has a glossy, subtly textured finish. The thumbprint scanner rests on the power button.

Inside the latest Y21t Vivo mobile, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 runs the show. It’s a new chip built on a power-efficient 6nm node. Four gigs of memory (virtually extended by a gig) and 128GB of expandable storage round off this setup. FunTouchOS x Android 11 power the Vivo Y21T. The battery capacity is 5000 mAh, and it fast-charges over 18W.

The screen is a 6.58” IPS LCD with a notch bleeding from the top. It’s a 1080P panel that refreshes at a smooth 90Hz. The original Y21 was capped at 720P and 60Hz, which feels out of place in 2021. The screen-to-body ratio reaches 90.6%. And Vivo has built a blue light filter into the display to protect your eyes.

Lastly, the rear camera system features a 50MP f/1.8 wide lens, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro lenses. Super Night and Super HDR shooting modes are built-in by default. The 8MP front camera comes with multi-style portrait and night selfie modes. We’ll learn more when the Y21T launches on January 3.
