Vivo always releases cheap entry-level devices with a bit of design flair. The newcomer “Vivo Y04s” is none too different in that regard. This phone is launched with a really attractive design, painted in Crystal Purple and Jade Green colors. Also, this is one of the few devices in its price range with a 6000mAh battery.
This is not a new design by any means. We previously saw Vivo Y04 with the same look, though it wasn't as affordable. The only difference between those two devices is the chipset. Vivo Y04s brings the Unisoc T612 processor, which is the most cost-effective silicon made for Android phones.
The T612 chip helps bring down the phone’s price, but at the cost of performance. This is only a 1.8GHz octa-core processor. Vivo Y04s has built-in 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and a basic 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Users do have the option to expand storage by 1TB by using the SD card slot.
The screen is about what you would expect for this price. It’s an IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and HD+ 720p resolution. It has a good size at 6.74” and a passable brightness at 570 nits. And that front camera mounted on top of the display is only a 5MP sensor.
The Vivo latest budget mobile’s durability is top-notch, put against other devices in the price segment. This is an IP64-rated model, which means it has full dust ingress protection and a semi-waterproof build. SGS tested this device for MIL-STD-810H rating and gave it a 3-star drop protection label.
The dual camera finish looks great, but when it comes to photography, it has very limited functionality. There’s only a single 13MP sensor on the back for your photos and videos. The other is a QVGA assistive camera with two LED flashes for low-light photoshoots.
Vivo Y04s is built to last with a 6000mAh battery, and there’s also 15W FlashCharge available here for refills. The phone may be slow at recharging, but the cell will easily last 2 days with light usage. In essentials, Vivo Y04s has side fingerprint ID, Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, and OTG support. This newcomer has gone official in Indonesia, and it only costs $85 (~PKR 24,000).
