Vivo was quick to release the X300 and X300 Pro last year in October, and we suspect the same thing could happen to the next-gen models. Apparently, three of the models in the X500 lineup have already been listed at GSMA’s IMEI database: Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500e. The certification proves these devices are being worked on.
The IMEI database has given solid enough proof that the lineup consists of three devices, so we already have some idea of how the launch would go. By the way, some of you may be wondering what happened with the X400 series. Well, the company has decided to skip it, probably because the number four awakens tetraphobia among Chinese people.
Anyway, there were no model numbers on the three listings for the X500 phones. Only the names were shown in the IMEI listing. There’s an X500 and an Vivo new flagship model. Those are obviously trying to replace the X300 and X300 Pro.
The current lineup was also supposed to receive the Vivo X300e, but they haven’t gotten around to that part yet. Some still believe that this newcomer will launch soon. And that device will be later replaced by the X500e, which is listed on the IMEI database as of now.
By the way, we’ve had an eye on the new devices, and some rumors have painted a rough picture about them. Vivo X500, which is sitting at the base, is actually a compact model with a 6.4” screen. The X500 Pro goes all the way up to a 6.9” screen. These are probably LTPO AMOLEDs.
There’s also a LOFIC 50MP main shooter in the testing phase that they might put on the X500 phones for true hardware-level HDR. This is a big upgrade. Of course, the setup might also have a 200MP periscope telephoto shooter. Then comes the battery. There’s a chance that X500 and X500 Pro each have bigger than 7,000 mAh packs. The details are still developing, though. Keep watching the news for updates.
