Vivo has brought back Atif Aslam as the face of the brand in Pakistan, and possibly given their marketing a little boost. They’ve started teasing the Vivo V70 5G, which will launch in just two days. Everything about this device is on the company’s site. The true price will be confirmed upon arrival on March 2nd. This is a brief overview.
The screen is a flat, but premium AMOLED. Vivo V70’s size is definitely smaller than the V60, only 6.59 inches. And the resolution is boosted to 1.5K (1260 x 2750p). There’s the same 120Hz refresh rate. Its bezels are razor-thin. And the fingerprint is Ultrasonic.
The scalable brightness limit is a little higher on this version at 1,800 nits HBM. The battery size and charging haven’t changed on the Vivo V70 whatsoever. They stuffed it with a 6,500 mAh cell. And the 90W charging also makes a comeback with the Vivo V70.
This newcomer’s 50MP periscope telephoto camera ups the zoom range to 3.7x. The main camera is the old 50MP shooter, next to another 50MP lens for ultrawide photos. This quad 50MP lens setup can now do 4K 60 FPS videos. It still has the same old Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, so no performance upgrade is to be expected. In fact, the screen’s higher resolution is suspected to put more stress on the chip. So the battery will drain a little faster.
The OS is updated to Android 16, by the way. It’s Origin OS 6, not the FunTouch OS. There are still 4 years of Android updates and 6 Years of Security updates waiting for the V70 user down the line. Animations are faster, and there are transparent elements in the UI, almost like Apple’s Liquid Glass.
The V60 had a plastic build. Vivo V70 will upgrade the material to aluminium alloy, though it will stick to the IP69 rating. There are two speakers on this handset. 12GB RAM and 256GB storage are found on the base Vivo V70, and its price is suspected to be Rs 170,000.
