Vivo Pakistan has been teasing the new V20 this whole week and today, the Chinese phone-maker announced the official release date for the series. The new camera-focused V20 series, featuring the Vivo V20 and V20 SE will launch on October 13 at noon. You can catch the event live on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitter, and get a chance to win exclusive gifts.

Vivo V20

Vivo V20 is a design and photography-first phone. The highlight here is the eye-tracking autofocus that powers the 44MP front camera, housed inside a notch. In plain words, the eye-tracking AF follows your eyes to keep you in focus while creating a shallow depth of field behind you.

Vivo’s multi-frame ‘Super Night Selfie’ mode on V20 promises natural-looking, well-exposed shots in low-light. The eye AF feature is combined with EIS to produce steady 4K selfie videos. Plus, there’s a multi-style portrait and slo-mo selfie mode.

Vivo V20’s rear triple-camera has a 64MP main lens, an 8MP multi-purpose lens that takes macro, wide-angle (it can capture a 120° field of view), and bokeh shots, and a mono sensor. You also get the Super Night Mode, Motion Autofocus, Art Portrait, and more. The setup is arranged inside a ‘Big eye’ style layout that Vivo has recently adopted.

It’s embedded on a raised camera bump, on top of a sleek, very minimalist back plate. You’re looking at a ‘Matte Glass’ finish available in Midnight Jazz, Moonlight Sonata, and Sunset Melody. These duo-tone designs are rounded off by the slim footprint the V20 has. At only 7.38mm thickness and a weight of 171g, the Vivo V20 feels featherweight in the hand.

Expect mid-range performance out of V20’s Snapdragon 720G chipset, 8GB of memory, and 128GB of native storage. A 4000 mAh battery powers this hardware and charges over 33W. The screen is a 6.44” AMOLED panel that delivers an FHD+ resolution at a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Vivo V20 is expected to cost around 59,999 PKR.

Vivo V20 SE

Vivo V20 SE edition has a similar 7.38mm and 171g profile, but features a generic recycled design — cameras vertically stacked in a boxy camera plate and a plastic back painted in glossy ‘Oxygen Blue’ or ‘Gravity Black’ colors.

Its battery capacity is 4100 mAh, powered by 33W FlashCharge. The display and the memory configuration are both shared between the two models. The cameras on the Vivo V20 SE are trimmed down versions of the base variant, however.

There’s no eye-tracking AF available on the 32MP front camera, and the rear camera has a lower-res 48MP main camera. Qualcomm’s last-gen Snapdragon 665 is at the heart of the V20 SE. And biometrics are handled by an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Vivo V20 SE is expected to retail around Rs. 39,999 to Rs. 44,999.
