Tecno Spark Slim and Pova Slim 5G Debut with Ultra-Thin Designs & 5160mAh Batteries

You may have heard reports that Tecno rebranded the old 5.75mm Spark Slim concept to Pova Slim so it could reach the consumer market. Contrary to the news, Tecno has now unveiled both of these devices simultaneously, each with a different thickness to set a world record. Here are all the details.

An official microsite has appeared in one of the Asian markets, revealing Tecno Spark Slim 4G alongside the Pova Slim 5G. The official launch is set for tomorrow (Sept 4), but all their specs have already been confirmed. These newcomers are one and the same, just built around different connectivity.

The “Tecno Spark Slim” is the thinnest of the two devices at 5.93mm. It’s not as slender as the concept that showed up in March, but it’s still groundbreaking. The Pova Slim kicks back with a 5.95mm slim design, perfectly in sync with the record-holder Hot 60 Pro Plus from Infinix.

Of course, to reach this level of thickness, the company had to rework the entire development process. The components had to be lighter and thinner to fit into these devices. The type-C connector, for example, measures only 0.45mm thick on both models.

Their VC cooling chambers are paper-thin at 0.3mm, and the batteries are just 4.04mm thick when looking from the side. The rear shield has been constructed with aerospace-grade fiberglass that measures close to 0.36mm in profile. One of the promo images shows each component on a separate layer.

The Mood Light Bar LED on the camera is something unique on the phone’s rear bump. This seems to be a special, customizable LED interface with animations and lighting effects for notifications. Both phones get the same light feature and 50MP main cameras on the back.

Spark Slim is the 4G version with a Helio G200 SoC. Pova Slim 5G runs a Dimensity 6400, although both have the same 6.78" 1.5K AMOLED and 144Hz refresh rate. Each model has an identical 5160mAh battery, 45W fast charging, Android 15 OS, and an IP64 water-tight design. Tecno should be revealing both their prices and availability details soon. Stick around for updates.
