With its Pop-catalog, Tecno probably offers the lowest-cost entry-level smartphones in the world. Its most recent entry, Tecno Pop 6, was unveiled about three months ago. On the heels of that, the Transsion Holdings brand has just introduced its slightly upgraded version, Pop 6 Pro.

Compared to the Pop 6 6.1-inch, the Tecno Pop 6 Pro has a larger 6.6-inch screen — a typical HD+ resolution IPS display at 720 X 1612 pixels. The top bezel has a drop notch hiding the selfie camera. There's a bonus front-facing flash to take night selfies.

The rear plate has a unique design, with an AI dual-cam layout on a rectangular protruded island; It conceals an 8MP primary optical sensor plus an assistive depth sensor. The flat rims around the phone have a Micro-USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, dual sim tray with a dedicated SD card slot, bottom-firing speaker, and power key embedded fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, Tecno Pop 6 Pro holds a quad-core CPU which the brand hasn't yet specified. To energize, it bares a 5000mAh battery rechargeable at 10-watt speed. It ships in two colorways, Power Black and Peaceful Blue. For added security, it also features face unlock.

The new addition to the Tecno price list runs resource-efficient Android 12 Go x HiOS UI by default. The lightweight operating system can help compensate for its low-capacity 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Although the Pop 6 Pro is launched in Bangladesh exclusively, the brand has already started its marketing campaigns in other Asian regions. It won't be long before it's sitting on Pakistani store shelves. So stay tuned; we'll keep you posted on further developments.
