Tecno plans to conquer another enthusiast domain we've all come to know as foldable smartphones. Mobile World Congress 2023 is nearing, and the chain's prepping to unveil its first-ever tablet/phone dubbed Tecno Phantom V Fold there. They recently confirmed it in an announcement, and the promotional phase has started too.

They intend to keep the device under wraps in building anticipation; however, a full-blown video preview of the phone is already roaming in the leak circles. The leaked video on Twitter is an extension of recent pictures which revealed the Phantom V in a black protective case.

The video showcases each design element of the phone, from the hinge to the cover screen to the camera layout. V Fold's hinge nicely adjusts the crease on the inner screen, and there's no residual gap left between the two halves when folded.

It brings a side-mounted biometric ID, a type C port at the bottom, with two speakers firing sound from both ends. No word on its specs and pricing yet, but the chain has teased the SoC inside. It's a flagship performer housing MediaTek's state-of-the-art Dimensity 9000+ chip. The upcoming smartphone's performance is expected to be top-notch, and its pricing should soon be reflected in the Tecno price catalog.

The foldable V phone carries the same camera layout as the Phantom X2 Pro. However, the setup lives inside a circular island. Unlike most folding phones, the cover screen on this particular device seems on par with a regular slab phone.

The MWC event slated for 28th February is closing in, and ahead of that, the rest of its specifications are likely to unveil via teasers or leaks. We'll continue reporting on the developments to keep our audience in the loop.
