Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro Moniker Spotted on GSMA Database, Suggesting It's Real

Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy S26 series at the start of next year, and early sightings indicate at least four devices on the way. SammyPolice, the famous publication, has just found a GSMA listing that confirms the existence of a curious new device in the lineup: a “Galaxy S26 Pro.”

The GSMA database was updated a few hours ago with a new listing. The platform had previously listed the Galaxy S26 under the model code SM-S942U, but now they've replaced it with a different name. The same model is now being addressed as the “Galaxy S26 Pro” (SM-S942U1), which has left everyone curious.

We came across a firmware leak as well that talked about a Galaxy S26 Pro. Now it pops up on GSMA, which leads us to believe that this product title is real and not just a placeholder. But how does it fit into the Galaxy S series that has always consisted of vanilla, Plus, and Ultra models? There are no official claims at this point, but the rumor mill has a theory.

From what we know about this series so far, there are clear signs of at least four devices on the web. GSMA talks about the Galaxy S26 and Samsung's new Pro model, whereas the leakers have been constantly on the tails of Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Edge. There’s no talk of the Galaxy S26 Plus anywhere.

It’s being speculated that the Plus model has been switched out, and now the Galaxy S26 Pro is taking the phone’s place. The Plus model is always the odd one out when it comes to sales, so the company might be trying to revamp the titles and ranks.

The Pro may or may not bring additional features with its new rank. We might have to wait for more leaks to untangle that mystery. What we do know is that Samsung will unveil the entire lineup with a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, sans a few markets where Exynos 2600 will be dominant.
