Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Debuts with Record-thin 5.8mm Design & 200MP Camera

Samsung has officially expanded its flagship lineup with the Galaxy S25 Edge, arriving as the fourth member in the S25 series. The newcomer positions itself as the slimmest Galaxy S phone ever made, with only 5.8mm depth and 163g weight. In terms of specs, the Galaxy S25 Edge is every bit as premium as the rest of its siblings. Have a look.

Galaxy S25 Edge brings an ultra-slim body, but it takes design cues from the existing devices to maintain a uniform look. There are two cameras on the back, and both of them are enclosed in a floating pill-shaped island. The lenses protrude out aggressively, so the phone will create some wobble on flat surfaces.

We have a 6.7” display on the front with a Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 shield on top. It may have the same protection rating as the S25 Ultra, but the S25 Edge doesn’t have an anti-reflective coating. This is an AMOLED QHD+ screen with an LTPO 120Hz refresh rate and 2600nits brightness.

The small cutout on the screen is home to a 12 MP selfie camera. There’s also a secondary 12 MP shooter on the back of the Samsung Galaxy Edge new model for ultrawide shots, which doubles as a macro lens with autofocus. The primary camera, however, is Samsung’s high-end 200 MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor with wide f/1.7 aperture and OIS stabilization.

There’s no telephoto lens on the Galaxy S25 Edge on account of it being super thin. But, Samsung does claim 2X optical-quality zoom with that Main 200 MP sensor. Like the rest in the lineup, the Galaxy Edge also uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite for processing, bringing 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of starter UFS 4.0 storage.

We have a One UI 7 x Android 15 running on this phone by default, which means there’s a full Galaxy AI suite built into the S25 Edge. More importantly, this device supports 7 years of OS support and security updates.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is super light, but it doesn’t compromise on the build quality to do so. It has a standard IP rating and a titanium middle frame to go with it. The thin design does have its caveats, though, and the biggest one you’ll find here is the phone’s 3900mAh battery.

With the battery so small, Samsung only provided 25W charging here, which should be decently fast. Also, the phone has a 15W wireless input, if that’s how you usually prefer to recharge. The slimmer sibling of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra starts at around $1100 (~PKR 309,000) for the 12/256 GB option, going all the way up to $1220 (~PKR 342,000) for 512 GB storage. Its color options are Titanium Silver, Jet Black, and Icy Blue.
