Samsung Galaxy M12 debuted in Malaysia last month, and it’s soon hitting store shelves in India. Based on Samsung's typical release calendar, it should be headed to Pakistan next. It’s an entry-level Samsung, featuring several improvements over the previous-gen M11.

Galaxy M12 is the budget equivalent of the Samsung Galaxy A12. Right off the bat, you’ll find that the Galaxy M12 has a more squared-off design. The shell is textured but clean, save for the camera housing. The fingerprint scanner has been integrated into the power button.

Out on the front, the hole-punched screen now has a notch bleeding into it. The chin appears to have grown thicker too. Galaxy M12 comes in black, blue, and white colorways.

Aside from the tweaks in the phone’s design, the Samsung Galaxy M12 display also offers a higher, smoother 90Hz refresh rate. But it’s still a 6.5” IPS LCD with a 720P resolution.

The Processors for the low-end Samsung new model 2021 usually don't get listed and the company is often reluctant to name the chips, but the Galaxy M12 is an exception. It runs on the 8nm Exynos 850 chipset, powered by the latest OneUI 3.1, based on Android 11. Contrasted against the 14nm Snapdragon 450 from last year’s M11, the Exynos processor is a leap forward in performance.

Samsung has also squeezed a bigger battery into the M12. You’ll be hard-pressed to kill the phone before getting a full-day use out of it. When you run out, the device fast charges over 15W. However, this capacity makes for a chunky build. At 9.7mm and 221g, this plastic phone has a heavy footprint.

The 48MP GM2 sensor is at the heart of the Galaxy M12 camera array, joined by a 5MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera has an 8MP sensor behind it.

Samsung Galaxy M12 would be available in 3GB/4GB/6GB memory and 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options. It can be priced around Rs. 23,000 to 27,000 PKR.
