Samsung Galaxy M02 is Expected to Arrive Soon; Bags Another Certification

Samsung's next generation of ultra-budget Galaxy phones, featuring the Samsung Galaxy A02 and the Galaxy M02, is coming soon. There haven't been any official announcements yet, but the two phones keep cropping up on certification websites and have been benchmarked ahead of their launch. This week, the Indian BIS authority signed off on the Galaxy M02, hinting that it might make its debut soon.

If the Samsung Galaxy M02 launches in India, it might also launch in Pakistan next, given Samsung's typical release calendar. Although the Galaxy M-series was only recently made available in Pakistan, if we had to venture an educated guess, the lineup should get populated with new releases.

The new certification listing only gives the model number of the phone and nothing else. Bluetooth SIG and Geskbench databases also feature the phone, except their entries are more revealing.

The Galaxy M02 might come with an even more affordable Samsung mobile price tag than its predecessor, based on the specs already made public. While performance is hardly a priority for an entry-level phone like the Galaxy M02, note that Samsung has opted for a processor that came out in 2017.

The three-year-old Snapdragon 450 is a downgrade from the Samsung Galaxy M01 and its Snapdragon 439. We can only assume that Samsung is cutting this corner to introduce new features (perhaps a fingerprint scanner or bigger storage). The memory is still 3GB. We expect it to launch before 2020 ends.
