The Galaxy A53 5G is the upcoming sequel to the Samsung Galaxy A52, one of Samsung's bestsellers. It is reportedly in production already. The rumor mill leaked a few specs too. And the A53 5G was just benchmarked.

You can find the Samsung Galaxy A53 listed on Geekbench, the popular cross-platform benchmark. Its model number is "SM-A536U." The scorecard also features system details for the phone. We'll review the specifications before getting into the scores.

Galaxy A53's chip is the Exynos 1200, codename 's5e8825.' Samsung has yet to announce this SoC. But the Exynos 1200 is built on the cutting-edge 4nm node.

It's flagship-grade and rumored to integrate an AMD GPU. But SamMobile notes that the GPU is ARM-designed Mali-G68. It's already two years old, so the graphics performance of the Samsung A53 new model will not be the most competitive.

The Galaxy A53 5G manages 690 on single-core and 1846 on multi-core tests. However, pre-release benchmarks are not always reliable. The OneUI 4, built on Android 12, powers the Galaxy A53 5G. You get at least 6GB of multitasking memory.

We're looking at a 6.5" SuperAMOLED screen featuring a 1080P resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Hidden under this screen is a fingerprint scanner. Plus, Samsung Galaxy A53 is IP68 rated instead of the IP67 rating on the Galaxy A52.

The 64MP primary lens leads the quad-camera setup. Stereo speakers deliver stereo sound. Also, Samsung is ditching the 3.5mm audio jack. A 5000 mAh battery powers everything.
