A few days ago, Samsung officially released the new Android 15 x One UI 7 update for Galaxy A05s. The first wave began in Asian countries, Vietnam and Thailand, and now it has reached the far side of the globe in Central and North American regions. If you are a proud owner of a Galaxy A05s, here’s what to anticipate with the Android 15 update.
The Galaxy A05s variant that sells in North America has the model number SM-A057M. We assume the firmware version (A057MUBU9DYE5) rolling out in the second wave belongs to the same device. The firmware number varies ever so slightly from region to region, and it might be different where you live.
It includes all the latest features and improvements that come with Android 15, a couple of UI changes that are part of One UI 7, and security fixes that were released with the May 2025 patch. The yearly update has a lot to offer. Expect a large download of 2.6 GB before you can access the firmware on your Samsung new budget mobile.
The global expansion continues and the update will inevitably reach Pakistan. Once it arrives, your Galaxy A05s should send you an alert to let you know about the available update. Alternatively, you might need to “Check for Updates” manually in the Software Updates section in Settings.
Once you see the big blue “Download and Install” button with the Change Log, you can simply tap on it and let the phone update itself to One UI 7. After the download and a quick reboot, your Galaxy A05s will welcome you to revamped software. There are several changes to note in this new update.
Just like every other Galaxy device that has been updated to One UI 7, the Galaxy A05s covers the usual bits with a UI overhaul and a fresh coat of paint for native app icons. This update has a bunch of new features and widgets, there's better privacy, and the software is optimized for smoother animations.
The battery status icon and charging animations have also changed. The notification and quick panel are separated. There’s a new volume bar in the control center right beside the brightness controller. This update even introduces a vertical app drawer to your Galaxy A05s.
One UI 7 brings a lot of systemwide changes to Galaxy A05s. Make sure to read the changelog to familiarize yourself with all one of them. Stay tuned for further updates regarding One UI 7 as Samsung continues to push out the firmware to eligible devices.
