The Chinese launch already happened. The next obvious step for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series is the global unveiling, and we are already seeing signs of these devices in the supply chain. The memory options for the global Redmi Note 17 Pro have surfaced today, and these are the exact configurations it’s supposed to ship with.

The global model that will ship to Pakistan and Vietnam was seen with at least two configurations. The imports and exports datasheet only gave up the model number of the device, though it was easy to track down the phone’s exact title.
2607DRA18G is a familiar number, same as the Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro (2607DRA18C). Only difference we see here is the letter “G” at the end, which obviously means global in this case. The phone is recognized, so let’s talk about the memory configurations now.

Brace yourselves, because it’s not looking pretty for the Redmi Note 17 Pro global. The Chinese market got an 8GB base RAM with 12GB memory on the higher end, and the storage options ranged from 128GB to 256GB to 512GB. The global Note 17 Pro has a cringeworthy 4/64GB base memory trim. By the way, Here is the updated Xiaomi rate list with the newest models and prices.

And the worst part: the database only showed one more variant for the Note 17 Pro, which was 6/128GB. These are preliminary details, of course, and there may be more options that didn’t make an entry on the import/export database. But the base configuration is unacceptable, bordering on offensive for a Redmi Note Pro model.

Just last year, we had 8GB base RAM on the Redmi Note 15 Pro (global), and storage started at 128GB. The Note 17 Pro will cut both RAM and storage by half at the base level. And bad news keeps piling on. We hear the battery is also being downgraded on the global version.
Redmi put a 9000mAh cell on the Chinese Note 17 Pro, but the global version is supposed to ship with an 8340mAh cell that they will round up to 8500mAh (typical) for marketing. We’ll soon know how much of these details are actually true. Keep watching the news for more updates.
