The rollout of Xiaomi's Redmi Note 11 series is just around the corner. The official global launch of Redmi Note 11 and 11 Pro is set for tomorrow. And the Redmi Note 11S will follow later next month. But its official teasers are already out, the landing page is up, and the release date has been announced. The rumor mill also managed to dig up the specification chart.
The Redmi Note 11S is slated for debut on February 9, 2022. It’ll first launch in India and might head to Pakistan next. We’re shown the phone’s preview in the teasers.
The Note 11S comes in at least one royal blue finish per the marketing material. The shade presents a stark contrast against the jet-black camera housing. There aren’t any silver accents that you would find on other Redmi Note 11 phones. Four lenses and an LED flash form a cluster inside this raised camera plate. The chassis has flat, somewhat soft edges — painted in the same tone as the rest of the casing.
The leaked specs of the latest Xiaomi Redmi mobile come from the phone leaker Yogesh Brar who reports that the Redmi Note 11S runs on the Helio G96. The SoC is currently the highest-end 4G chip from MediaTek, except it’s built on an old-gen 12nm TSMC node. At any rate, it’s an iterative upgrade over the Helio G95 at the heart of the Redmi Note 10S.
A 5000 mAh battery, supporting 33W charging, powers everything. You get 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage, presumably expandable. Redmi Note 11S boots to Android 11 x MIUI 12, even though the MIUI 13 is already out.
We’re looking at an AMOLED screen, once again. It’s a hole-punched 6.4” panel featuring a 1080P resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. The front camera has a 13MP sensor behind it. The rear camera system adopts 108MP wide-angle, 8MP ultra-wide, and two 2MP shooters (supplied by Samsung, Sony, and OmniVision, respectively.) Xiaomi has also bumped up the price slightly. Expect the Note 11S to start from ~ PKR 37,700.
