Realme GT 7 Global Variant Spotted; Powered by Dimensity 9300+ But Falls Short

Realme GT 7 has a global variant to be released outside China. Even though it’s being advertised with the same name across markets, the GT 7 headed to the international market has an entirely different chipset and reduced RAM capacity, as revealed by the latest Geekbench report. This is what you need to know.

Geekbench updated its database yesterday with a new listing for a device called RMX5061. It’s believed to be the same Realme GT 7 model, but instead of MTK’s latest Dimensity 9400+ platform, it is shown in the listing with a year-old Dimensity 9300+ SoC with 12GB RAM. The rumor mill says it’s probably a global variant.

The Geekbench scorecard doesn’t specify the chipset with a name tag or a placeholder, but it’s clock speed and architecture are enough to conclude that it’s a Dimensity 9300+. That’s the very same chip used by the Realme Neo 7, a phone that was assigned its own separate category as a mid-range gaming device last year.

Dimensity 9400+ is a 3.7 GHz octa-core chip released only a few days ago, but the Dimensity 9300+ is one year old at this point, with only a 3.4 GHz clock speed. Realme using this older chipset might strip the GT 7 global model of its flagship title. However, considering the Realme rate list, the brand may be aiming for a more budget-conscious flagship segment.

It’s not the first time Realme has pulled a maneuver like this. While the Realme GT 7 (global) could technically be given a gaming phone title, it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison if you pit it against the Chinese variant. Plus, there are rumors about some other features it might be missing.

Since Realme faces challenges with battery safety ratings across global markets, the 7000mAh battery advertised for the Chinese variant may not be available on the global GT 7. This still needs confirmation, but there’s a chance that it might drop the charging speeds as well.

Rumors on the web suggest that the Realme GT 7 (global) is actually a rebranded Realme Neo 7 that has 80W charging and an LTPO 6.78” AMOLED with 1.5k resolution. The phone was released last year, and its major selling point was Dimensity 9300+ and a 6000 nits brightness. The global Realme GT 7 could still be a huge success if the company priced it right. For now, we await the Chinese variant to launch on April 23rd.
