Realme GT 7 Claims Guinness World Record with 24-Hour Nonstop Movie Playback

Realme GT 7 is now making headlines by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon of watching films on a mobile phone. The device played movies non-stop for a full 24 hours, a feat officially verified by a Guinness World Records representative on a cruise in Italy.

The record is part of the Realme campaign “Endless Power Journey” for promoting the GT 7, which was hosted live onboard a European cruise that began in Rome, Italy. This movie marathon kicked off at 9:30 PM regional time on May 22, and Realme live-streamed the challenge from Shenzhen, China.

The phone’s battery tapped out exactly 24 hours later at the same time on May 23. This is the longest a smartphone has lasted while playing movies. Of course, the perimeters for the video playback, such as resolution, display Brightness, or audio strength, haven’t been confirmed officially, so these results might not represent real-world scenarios.

Still, the Guinness record for the longest movie marathon on mobile is impressive, and it’s all thanks to Realme GT 7’s massive battery. This device has a TUV-approved 5-star rated battery with up to 7000mAh capacity. It will also recharge fast as it’s capable of 120W input. What’s more, considering Realme phone prices, the GT 7 offers incredible value for such high-end specs.

Realme GT 7 will go official on May 27 in the global markets, a date Realme has confirmed on several occasions. It will begin the rollout in Paris and France and hopefully continue to expand in more regions as the weeks pass. Since the phone is also landing in one of the South Asian markets, this GT variant might just make it to Pakistan in time.

We know about the phone’s battery and charging speed, but what about the rest of its specifications? The offical landing page for the global Realme GT 7 shows that the device runs on a Dimensity 9400e chip, an underpowered version of the original D9400 SoC we’ve seen on several flagship devices this year.

Realme even “has a Dream Edition” phone in the making, which is designed in collaboration with the Aston Martin Formula One team. Realme GT 7 has a graphene-based cooling solution, and its camera can record 4K videos at 120FPS. There’s an IMX 906 (OIS) 50MP Main sensor and a 32 MP selfie camera.

The company advertises stable 6-hour 120FPS gameplay for PUBG and 20 other supported games. It also has a screen that gets up to 6000 nits of brightness. The rest of its specs will be unveiled after the launch, so stay tuned for a full review.
