Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Visits Geekbench with Qualcomm’s Latest Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

There was no Pro Max version on the Chinese lineup, at least not yet. But that’s not the case for the global market. Apparently, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max variant was just seen on the Geekbench test database. And this was all the proof we needed to verify its hardware and Android version. 


The Geekbench entry would refer you to the Xiaomi model 2609FRA74G. We know for a fact that it’s the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. That’s because we’ve seen the exact number on NBTC Thai certification. It was actually noted there with its full name. That would solve the identity part.

You can see that model number has the letter “G” right at the end. That means it will end up being the global trim. CPU info section had another detail that we are heavily invested in. And you should too. It says QTI SM6850. That’s for sure a Qualcomm chip.


Well, a quick search on Google would tell you that it’s their very new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 SoC. Redmi Note 17 Pro Max would put that chip onboard with at least 8GB RAM. It has eight cores to work with. 2.61GHz is the boost clock speed here. We got a screenshot of the listing’s source code. This info is plenty to gauge what the performance could be on the Note 17 Pro Max. Geekbench tested the single-core yield from this chip. And the phone actually managed to crank out 942 points there. And multicore results were even better at 2923 points. 


The sad part is that this new 2026 handset does not have Android 17 by default. It’s built around the still relevant but technically older Android 16 x Hyper OS 3. One of its yearly updates would need to be sacrificed to get up to Android 17, after the phone is launched, of course. 

There are reports of it using a 6.83” screen, 1.5K res 120Hz panel. That’s a valid claim. There might be a 9200mAh battery on the global sib, but the Chinese version that’s coming later is supposed to crank the size up to 10,000mAh. More specs will surface over time.
