Xiaomi recently introduced their first Redmi gaming phone, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, in China. It’s now being lined up for a global launch under the POCO brand. The phone will be making its debut in India as Xiaomi POCO F3 GT— from POCO’s flagship line. Teasers and early promos are already up, giving us an expected launch date.

As seen in the teasers, the Xiaomi POCO F3 GT will be released in the Q3 of 2021 — possibly between July 1 and September 30. We’re also given the chipset details, signaling that the GT is a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming phone.

Dimensity 1200, the highest-end 6nm chip from MediaTek, is at the heart of POCO F3 GT. It’s hooked up to a 5065 mAh battery that can fast-charge over 67W, delivering a 100% top-up in just 42 minutes. The phone has multiple layers of graphite and VC chambers that make a 3D cooling system. MIUI 12.5, based on Android11, would run on the F3 GT right out of the box.

The new addition to the Xiaomi price list is powered by a 6.67” OLED display that delivers a full HD resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The panel features a slim bezel and a hole punched straight through its center. Also part of the build are a side-facing thumbprint reader, shoulder-mounted trigger buttons, an X-linear vibration motor, and dual stereo speakers.

Lastly, the camera system uses a 64MP wide lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 16MP selfie lens. If the Redmi K40 is any guide, the F3 GT will come in 6GB/8GB/12GB memory and 128GB/256GB storage, speculated to start from 350 euros (~ Rs. 65,900.)
