OPPO is all set to add a new 5G handset to its A-series lineup. The handset under consideration is the A97 5G, successor to the previously launched OPPO A96 4G. The handset and its images have been listed on China Telecom’s website, highlighting its key internals and design. Let’s have a look.

The listing reveals the Oppo A97 5G to weigh around 190 grams with flat edges and a matte rear finish. A trendy dual hoop module on a glossy rectangular protrusion hosts its camera duo. A 48 MP lens hides behind the primary lens, while a 2 MP shooter takes the secondary position.

The display of the A97 5G is 6.56 inches Full High Definition panel which also accommodates the 8MP selfie camera. Moreover, the battery unit will have a 5,000 mAh capacity with a Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and speaker grille housed at the bottom.

There’s no official information about the display technology used inside the A97 5G. However, the power button on the right side of the new OPPO A mobile seems to double as a fingerprint scanner hinting toward the use of an LCD panel. The left edge holds the volume rocker and the SIM tray. Furthermore, the processor powering the device is also unannounced.

According to the previous rumors, the OPPO A97 5G will hit the Chinese market on July 15, in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB storage configurations. Users can pick from Deep Sea Blue, Cherry Blossom, and Quiet Night Black colors. The high-end 12GB variant is tipped to cost around CNY 2,299 (~ Rs. 70,000). However, do note that China Telecom has a history of using spontaneous digits as fillers in the price section. The actual prices will be confirmed at the launch.
